ho hum didn't like the top of the face ..cut it off... lalalal
hahah I was doing this as a demonstration for a drawing class i was teaching on different ways to use pastels ( for young teens ) I use lotts 'o'color when i use oil pastels...and really haha i hardly ever use oil pastels cuz people tell me i use too many colors
This is amazing stuff. I've always been kinda intimidated by oil pastels and things of that nature... I cling to computers and coloured pencils in a really, really pathetic way. I think my art teacher hates me for it.
And then, I see stuff like this, and it's like, my fingers start itching to try something new. I love it when people use different colours instead of just changing the value or the saturation to do shadows and highlights... and in this case it's pulled off to like, this perfect degree. It looks kind of spontaneous and *alive,* if you know what I mean.
Totally loving it.
And now, for irony, I will +fav your self-portrait that I found when you +faved mine. HAH.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
